Or Single's Awareness Day?
Hmm, that's pretty SAD.
Pun intended.
Yeah, not a fan of Valentine's Day. Stayed home, ate potato chips, ice cream, and watched Combat! until I couldn't see straight anymore. Although watching handsome men run around playing soldier is quite fun for me. This was filmed in the 60's so they don't use any profanity (although the Sergeant will tell the others to "Shut Up!"). They get hurt, they get dirty, they need comforting, right? Oh to be a nurse in the fantastical world of television WWII. The actual WWII not such a nice place. I've been reading 1942, all about the turning points in the war, most of which happened during that year. The book really starts with Pearl Harbor, not sure where it really finishes since I'm not finished with it yet, but it was a pretty horrible thing. I can't even hardly credit the horrible, horrible things that men will do to each other on such a large scale. As bad as we were for putting Japanese-Americans in internment camps, as bad as Hitler was with his concentration camps, I'm beginning to think the Japanese were worse.
Work, Church, way too much tv, that's my life at present. I will be going to California in March for my neice who's going on a mission (the second one in 6 months!!), so maybe after that something interesting will come along for me to post about.
have a great day!
